Glass technologies for a greener future
The 33rd edition of China Glass gathered more than 870 exhibitors from 29 countries and registered over 126,000 visits, an increase of 18% over the previous year, on April 25-28, 2024 in Shanghai. The exhibition focused on global trend topics such as process efficiency, digital manufacturing and decarbonization.
"China Glass was a unique opportunity to showcase our advanced technologies for producing high-quality, recyclable glass with reduced energy consumption. We met a large number of visitors who were interested in reducing their environmental impact. Once again, Fives is at the forefront of green glass production,” says Alexandre Brusset, Vice President of Glass at Fives.
Solar glass process expertise
China is the world’s largest manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) glass. Local glassmakers are investing heavily in energy-efficient technologies to reduce coil usage and increase renewable energy sources.
“We have been partnering with PV glass manufacturers in China for more than 20 years. Thanks to our process expertise in float and PV glass, we have successfully supplied more than 100 annealing lehrs and rolling machines for the domestic and international markets,” he adds.
The next edition of China Glass will take place in Shanghai in April 2025.
